Insurance Verification
Insurance companies are there to help when you need it most, and in some cases, when you least expect it. Our insurance specialists at Discovery Addiction Services have years of experience working with insurance providers.
An insurance company’s main focus is to find you the most affordable options available and not necessarily the best solution possible for your needs. With us, an insurance specialist will work on your behalf to determine how much, if any, your medical insurance provider will pay for substance use treatment or mental
health treatment.
Our Insurance Specialists Are Ready to Help
You’re likely to be approved – Discovery Addiction Services is a preferred provider for numerous payers and managed care organizations. Although we have an extensive list of insurance providers, it is recommended to talk with one of our admissions coordinators to fully understand your coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I check if my insurance provider covers the cost of treatment?
Discovery Addiction Services is pleased to be a preferred provider for most major insurance carriers. Check out our list of acceptable insurances. You can also contact your insurance provider or insurance customer support agent directly for further clarification on the costs covered.
What are my payment options if I don’t have insurance coverage?
Even if your insurance company is not on our in-network list, or you don’t have insurance at all, it is still possible to get substance use disorder treatment. Discovery Addiction Services accepts all major credit cards, eChecks and cash, as well as HSA/FSA debit cards. We provide complimentary benefit verification and can also work to obtain a single case agreement if necessary. Please call us today at (949) 415-3771 to discuss your options for obtaining necessary treatment.
I’m having trouble understanding my insurance coverage – what are my options?
Check your insurance provider’s website or call them directly to clarify what your in-network and out-of-network benefits are for your plan. Each plan has a different deductible and out-of-pocket amount. Some plans don’t offer out-of-network benefits, in which case you would pay out-of-pocket for treatment services that are not in your insurance plan’s network.
What if I have a PPO, EPO or HMO?
Depending on your insurance provider, you will see it clearly marked on the front or back of your insurance card whether you have a preferred provider organization (PPO), exclusive provider organization (EPO) or health maintenance organization (HMO). You will have different levels of co-pays, premiums, deductibles and in-network and out-of-pocket costs depending on which type of insurance coverage you have. Feel free to reach out to us today for more information.
Does insurance cover all of the treatment?
The level of substance use or mental health treatment coverage depends on your individual insurance plan specifications. Our team is happy to check which treatment services are covered and which (if any) might incur out-of-pocket costs. Simply fill out the brief insurance form and we will be in touch shortly.
What time of year is best to get treatment?
There is no “right time” to get the treatment you need and deserve. But if you do have insurance coverage, using it before there are any changes to your current plan is ideal. For some, insurance plans can change before the beginning of a new year. Be sure to check when your current plan expires so you can utilize any benefits.
